What it checks
- Quantity × rate that doesn’t equal the amount, allowing for a rate rounded when printed.
- Subtotals, totals and brought-forward figures that don’t match the lines above them.
- Broken formulas such as #REF! and #DIV/0!.
- Missing amounts, unpriced lines and missing units.
- The same description priced at rates more than 10% apart.
- Identical duplicate lines and item numbers used twice.
- Amounts typed over formulas, zero quantities with an amount, and negative quantities or rates.

How it works
Upload one document
A priced BOQ or quotation as PDF with selectable text, XLSX, XLS or CSV.
Read the findings
Errors first, then checks and notes. Each one names the row or page and shows the numbers.
Fix or ask
Correct your own BOQ, or send the supplier a short list of lines to explain.
- When a total includes VAT, discounts or retention, it isn’t questioned, and anything that couldn’t be read is listed as not checked.
- Your file is read once and never stored. Only the result is saved, so you can reopen or delete it.

Is BOQ Health Check free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 checks every week. PRO has no weekly limit and adds the Excel download of the findings.
Does it use my comparisons?
No. Tools have their own weekly runs and never use your comparison allowance.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
No. PDFs need selectable text. Scanned pages and photographs can’t be read.
